Dear Friend of Tomorrow's Hope,
It is an exciting time of year as beach toys are replaced with backpacks and new school supplies. Our Catholic schools are looking forward to having their classrooms filled with smiling faces once again. For many of our children, their school is a sanctuary where they feel safe, loved, and cared for.
Our Catholic schools equip students with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace. They have steadfastly committed to providing quality education, emphasizing critical thinking and moral development; nurturing values that promote empathy, respect, and a sense of community; and creating a supportive environment for all children, regardless of their socio-economic background.
However, the cost of providing a Catholic education is a continuous concern for many of our families who are already struggling to make ends meet. Based on the latest national poverty level, about 20% of Long Islanders are considered structurally poor. In fact, the need for those seeking tuition assistance for our Catholic schools is approximately $7.2 million, an increase of more than $1 million than last year! The rising cost of daily living on Long Island, which already far exceeds the average income of the families we serve, hampers their ability to stay afloat while keeping their children in Catholic school.
This is where your generosity can make an incredible difference. As we prepare for the academic year ahead, your contribution to our Annual Fund will have the power to transform a child’s life, offering them a chance at a brighter future that could help break the cycle of poverty some families endure generation after generation.
